This Privacy Policy explains how Stash-it, a product operated by Fingerprints Creative Private Limited ("Fingerprints Creative", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use our cloud storage service, including during our beta and early access programme.

By signing up for Stash-it, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection and use of your information as described below.

Beta Programme Notice: You are participating in an early access version of Stash-it. Some features, storage limits, and policies described here may change before the full public launch. We will notify you of any material changes by email.

1. Who We Are

Stash-it is a cloud storage service and a product brand of Fingerprints Creative Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. Our service is accessible at stashit.cloud. For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at: team@stashit.cloud

2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Name and email address: collected at signup and used to identify your account.
• Files you upload: any file you choose to store through Stash-it. We do not inspect or analyse the contents of your files for any purpose other than delivering the service.
• Payment information: if applicable at a later stage. During the beta, no payment information is collected.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• IP address and approximate location: used for security monitoring and abuse prevention.
• Browser type, operating system, and device information: used to ensure the product works correctly across devices.
• Usage data: which features you use, how much storage you consume, download activity, and session timestamps.
• Log data: server logs including access times, pages visited, and errors encountered.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect payment card numbers during the beta.
• We do not read, scan, or analyse the content of your uploaded files for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than storage and delivery.
• We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your Stash-it account.
• To store, organise, and deliver your files as directed by you.
• To enforce storage quotas and download allowances under your plan.
• To send service-related communications: account confirmations, retrieval notifications, and policy updates.
• To monitor and prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorised access.
• To improve the product during the beta phase: we may use anonymised, aggregated usage patterns to inform product decisions.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We will not use your information for advertising, behavioural profiling, or to build profiles for third-party use.

4. How Your Files Are Stored

Your files are stored on cloud infrastructure hosted in the Amazon Data Centers.

• Vault storage: all files are stored on a deep archive tier. Retrieval takes up to 48 hours. This wait time is shown clearly in the product before any retrieval is initiated.

All files are encrypted at rest and in transit. File access is controlled by time-limited, signed URLs. No direct bucket or storage URLs are ever exposed to users or third parties.

5. Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your data. We share limited information only with the following categories of parties:

5.1 Cloud Infrastructure

Stash-it relies on cloud infrastructure services to store and deliver your files. These providers act as data processors under our instruction and are contractually bound to handle your data securely. We do not disclose the specific names of infrastructure providers in user-facing communications.

5.2 Service Providers

We may use third-party service providers for functions such as email delivery, analytics (anonymised only), and error monitoring. These providers access only the minimum information necessary to perform their function and are prohibited from using it for other purposes.

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority. We will attempt to notify you of any such request unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Stash-it is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified in advance via email.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and files for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your files and personal information within 30 days, unless we are required by law to retain it for longer.

Beta-specific retention: Files uploaded during the beta programme may be subject to deletion at the end of the beta period. We will give you at least 14 days' notice before any beta-end deletion event, giving you time to download your files.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

• Access: you can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correction: you can ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Deletion: you can request that we delete your account and associated data.
• Portability: you can request your files in their original uploaded format at any time by downloading them from your dashboard.
• Objection: you can object to certain types of processing, such as use of anonymised data for product analytics.

8. Cookies

Stash-it uses essential cookies only: cookies required to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics cookies without your explicit consent.

9. Children's Privacy

Stash-it is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Stash-it after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

The current version and effective date are always shown at the top of this document.
